An Atomic Narrative26/04/07
“An Atomic Narrative—The Shed”, is an installation by Kathrine Shankey, (Australia/Ireland). This is a re–imagining of the features, orifices and appendages of the space. They have their own voice and they also speak for us– as an external body of experience. It is about entries, exits and conjunctions of the human body; points that can be read as territories of add–ons, insertions and cut–offs. Wherever your from, whatever the center of your wheel: your mind, your phone, your guts, your hands or other appendages, our contexts are extensions of our own bodies. This work relives the cracks, fissures and absent–minded changes made in a location. It adds a layer of choice and ownership to the inevitable botch jobs and accidents of everyday life; hearing them, inviting them in and incorporating them as though to form the fabric of a dream.
