The film, t–max 100, and one lens, 50 mm f1.8. Black and white images from the most colourful island of the world. Because here colours have to be felt, and the emotions shown by Cuban faces and landscapes as well. The shots stop time, which appears already still, hung between the past myths and the present contradictions. True smiles; proud looks, full of dignity and loneliness; eyes tired by sun and the hard work. Taking a photograph in a moderate way lets the photographer appreciate the waiting and the patience, conveying, through the images, an everyday life surprisingly real. A reportage of timeless caribbean histories which, beyond the black and white, shine in every shade.
